For the open-source LuxCore renderer these new Threadripper processors proved very capable for 3D physically based rendering.

Not only was the Threadripper 7980X the fastest, but it also equated to having the best performance per Watt of all the tested processors and well ahead of the Sapphire Rapids and Raptor Lake Refresh for power efficiency.

Even running Intel oneAPI rendering toolkit software like the Embree ray-tracing kernels was showing the Threadripper 7980X outperforming the Xeon Scalable CPUs tested.
