AMD Ryzen 5 3600X Linux Performance
While the AMD Ryzen 3000 series is very strong on Linux, on a performance-per-Watt basis under Ubuntu 19.04 is where it was coming up short at least with the ASUS CROSSHAIR VIII HERO WiFi (X570) motherboard used for testing. But at least from the 2700X to 3600X was a definite improvement in power efficiency thanks to Zen 2.
The average AC system power consumption of the Ryzen 5 3600X system was 143 Watts with a peak of 395 Watts.
If looking at the geometric mean for dozens of benchmarks carried out, the Ryzen 5 3600X was 3% faster than the Ryzen 7 2700X and 24% faster than the Core i5 9400F.
