MSI B350 TOMAHAWK: A Capable AMD Ryzen Motherboard For $110

This board has been working out fine under Linux with my tests over the past week. The audio uses a ALC892 codec, so audio even works in comparison to the many higher-end Ryzen motherboards using the ALC1220 that isn't supported until Linux 4.11. About the only complaint about the MSI B350 TOMAHAWK board design itself is if using the secondary PCI-E x16 slot, any long graphics card will obstruct the two SATA 3.0 ports.

With Ubuntu 16.10 and 17.04, the B350 TOMAHAWK has been working out fine. The only major problem is that similar to my tests with the X370 XPOWER GAMING, attempting to use any DDR4 memory's AMP mode isn't working out or when manually trying to push the memory to around DDR4-3000MHz speeds. Hopefully a new BIOS update will be out soon to address those problems.

I ran some comparison benchmarks between the MSI B350 TOMAHAWK and MSI X370 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM when using the AMD Ryzen 7 1700, 2 x 8GB Corsair DDR4 memory at DDR4-2133, AMD Radeon R9 Fury, and Ubuntu 17.04 with the Linux 4.10 kernel. All benchmarks were facilitated via the Phoronix Test Suite.
