If you managed to get a deal on another monitor this holiday season and are now looking for a monitor stand for better arranging your displays, Arctic has a growing range of monitor arms. The monitor arm/stand we're looking at today is the Arctic Z2 Pro.

While Arctic is largely known for their cooling products, the Swiss company has been expanding into offering a greater range of computer accessories -- including a range of monitor arms. At the moment, Arctic offers the Z series that are desk mounts with one to four display configurations and the W series for monitor wall mounts. The monitor stand that was sent over to Phoronix as a review sample by Arctic was the Z2 Pro that's designed to accommodate two monitors up to 27-inch in size and offers a four-port USB 3.0 hub.

The Z2 Pro is a high-end monitor desk stand that retails for just under $100 USD. The Z2 Pro has built-in cable management options, complete display flexibility with tilt/rotation/swivel support, and has a USB 3.0 hub for easily connecting your peripherals to the dual-head system. Given the many monitors in the Phoronix office, I accepted Arctic's invitation to checkout the Z2 Pro and ended up assembling this monitor stand in the LinuxBenchmarking.com server room.

The Z2 Pro monitor stand clamps down to the desk, similar to many other monitor mounts. Assembling the dual LCD monitor stand was very easy and it fits monitors between 13 and 27 inches in size with VESA 75/100mm mounts. The total load supported by the stand is twenty kilograms. I ended up clamping the Z2 Pro to one of my many L-shaped glass desks and it worked without any issues or having to reinforce the structure. The Z2 Pro should work fine with most desk surfaces though Arctic does warn against attaching it to a wooden desk made of a honeycomb structure / recycled paper.

The monitors can be positioned up to 350mm from the desk surface and the monitors can be positioned between 100 and 350mm from the vertical pole. For cable management any monitor cables can be routed along the monitor arm and down the pole. Each monitor can be independently titled +/- 15 degrees, swiveled 180 degrees, and rotated 360 degrees.
