AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U "Rembrandt" Linux Laptop Benchmarks

First up are some benchmarks of the Radeon 680M integrated graphics under Linux. With Rembrandt arguably most exciting is the switch from the long-used Vega/GFX9 graphics to now RDNA2 graphics with the Radeon 680M. This does mean a big leap in integrated graphics performance for laptops:

The RDNA2 integrated graphics were not only working under Linux, but they were working very well... In some cases like the DDraceNetwork platformer game, the Radeon 680M graphics were well ahead of not only the prior Radeon Vega graphics but also the Intel Xe Graphics found with the Core i7 1280P Alder Lake SoC.

The Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U graphics performance was looking very nice under Linux -- a big upgrade over the Vega-based 5850U graphics and generally well ahead of the Core i7 1280P Alder Lake graphics.

Across both OpenGL and Vulkan workloads the Radeon 680M graphics were performing very well on the latest open-source drivers. For those interested in the Radeon 680M potential for Linux gaming, a follow-up article will look much more closely at the 680M gaming performance... These are just some basic graphics tests for this article with mostly focusing on the Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U Linux CPU performance today.
