For the startup time tests of software with various I/O operations being stressed in the background, the Samsung 870 EVO 500GB was basically in line with its predecessor, the 860 EVO. The performance of the 870 EVO was obviously better than that of the QLC-based 870 QVO and the much older 850 EVO. But as anyone who uses NVMe storage can attest to, using the likes of the Corsair Force MP600 and other NVMe SSDs can yield huge performance advantages over consumer SATA 3.0 SSDs.

Running multiple SQLite databases concurrently on the disk put the 870 EVO performance out slightly in front of the 860 EVO.
