Examination:

Compustocx's DDR3 memory modules arrived with aluminum heatspreaders attached. These heatspreaders are not nearly as elaborate as what you can find on some other memory modules such as those from OCZ Technology with the ReaperX or Flex XLC, but they are enough to get the job done. There are a series of holes along the top of each heatspreader to allow for greater heat dissipation. While with most systems it should not be a problem, for some low-profile setups the extended length of the CSX heatspreaders may cause installation issues.

Labeled on the heatspreader stickers is 1GB DDR3 1600MHz, U08109761, SEC 831 HCH9, and Made by CSX Germany. Unlike most memory manufacturers that do not reveal which memory ICs are actually being used on the products, which usually means you will usually need to remove the heatspreader if you want to find out, Compustocx actually prints it on the label. The HCH9 refers to Samsung's K4B1G0846D-HCH9 IC.

The JEDEC setting for this memory is DDR3-1333MHz, but CSX supports frequencies up to 1600MHz.
